Eva G. Cox

COX, EVA G., 90, of Daisy, Tenn., died in the Rhea County Hospital early Monday morning. She was the oldest member of the Daisy First Baptist Church, widow of John T. Cox, the daughter of the late Scott and Elizabeth Gooden, pioneer settlers of North Hamilton County. Survivors, two sons, R. E. Cox, Dayton, Tenn.; Bruce Cox, Red Bank, Tenn.; two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Shannon, Birmingham, Ala.; Mrs. Blanche Cannon, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; one brother, Albert Gooden, Pikeville, Ky.; 12 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the chapel of the funeral home by the Rev. Edward Briggs, pastor of the Daisy First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Poe Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jim Cox, Bill Cox, John R. Cox, Bruce Cox, Jr., Charles Cox and Cleo Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ladies Bible Class of the Daisy First Baptist Church. The body will remain at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Williamson & Son Funeral Home, Highway 27, Soddy-Daisy.
