Soddy-Daisy, slipped beyond our soft touches, caresses and whispers of our
love to eternal life with our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008,
after an extended illness at Soddy-Daisy Health Care Center.
She received wonderful care at both Soddy-Daisy Health Care
Center and Summit View Assisted Living. She was born March 11, 1921, to
William L. and Nola Penney Davis and was a descendant of several other
pioneer families of Hamilton County that include Barnes, Burkhart, Fryar,

Hazel was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lester
S. Gill Sr.; brothers, Cecil, Ralph and Hayden; sisters, Louise, Arvazine
and Willie Mae; and beloved granddaughter, Lara.

Cagle), of Hixson, Ronald A. and Jeannie Gill, of South Boston, Va.; and a
daughter, Rebecca L. Thomas (Ronald Winkler), of Soddy-Daisy;

mention because she cared for them all. And her dear neighbors and friends
whom she loved and enjoyed living near over 64 years.
Her life was richly touched by these families and friends in
a positive way. She was kind, loving and compassionate. Our family was
richly blessed to be graced with her presence for 87 years.
