NOTES FROM 1870 & 1880 CENSUS:   In the 1870 Census the last name was spelled Hawkins.  It shows Angeline being born in Georgia .  Daughter; Flora A. was in the census being 16 years old.

In the 1870 Census it shows Jeptha being a coal miner.

In the 1880 Census he is a farmer.

Since the 1870 Census, two children were born:  Jeptha M. age 10 and Amanda E. age 6.

It appears that the family lived in the same house on both censuses.

My great grandmother; Lou E. (as name appears in the 1880 Census) is called Louellen in the 1870 Census.  I was told that her real name was Martha Lou Ellen Hawkins-Mason
